# Broadcast audiences, tags & Excel import

> Target broadcasts by filters or an imported list, and organize contacts with tags and language.

The **Broadcast** page can now reach far more than a saved group. Compose a broadcast by picking a template, then target exactly who should receive it.

## New

* **New broadcast composer.** Pick a template, choose an audience, review the live reach, and send.
* **Audience by filters.** Target contacts by tags, country, last assigned agent, last team, open/closed status, unread chats, language, and last-activity date range.
* **Import a list (Excel).** Download a sheet for your template (a `phone` column plus a column per variable), fill one row per recipient, and upload it. Each recipient gets their own variable values; CSV works too. See the [Broadcast guide](/guide/broadcast#import-a-list-excel).
* **Tags.** Apply labels to contacts from the [Contacts](/guide/contacts) page (create them inline) and target them in a broadcast.
* **Contact language.** Set a contact's language and broadcast in the right language.
* **API.** Send to any audience with `POST /api/v1/broadcasts`. See the [API reference](/api-reference/introduction).

## Get started

Open **Broadcast**, choose **New broadcast**, and pick how you want to target your contacts.
